SET UP YOUR FACEBOOK EVENT

1. In your Facebook account, select "Events"


2. Click "Create Event" Then Create a Private Event.



3. Create an event name (Brittani's Brilliant Book Bash! LIVE!; Steph's Autumn Book Bash! LIVE!"; Melanie's Literacy Celebration! LIVE!)




4. Select the date and time of the event. End times vary from consultant to consultant; most parties remain open for two days after the event). If you are ending the party in two days, put the end time as 11:59pm. Talk to your TL for more info!



5. UNCHECK "Guests can invite friends" to avoid mass invites. Do not add your co-host until you are ready to (see Host Coaching for details wink).





6. Add a cover photo. These can be found in Treetop/ Albums/ Facebook Event Cover Photos. There is also a Facebook group called UBAM Home Office Branding that has TONS of graphics, including new releases, seasonal event covers and more! If you are interested in being in this group, ask your TL to add you!





7. Hit "Create".




8. Go back into your event and hit "Edit". Add an event description. There are several you can use; here are some examples. Allow your personality to shine in your events to increase excitement and showcase your own book lady style! These descriptions have been created by our Treetop TL's, so out of respect for their creative abilities, please edit them to make them your own!

Example 2: 

Celebrate literacy + good children's books with us! Can't be online at 7:30 pm on the 7th? No problem...RSVP Going anyway! Contests, online store, and event page will be open for an entire day after the party takes place.

CREATE A PINNED POST

1. Create a post to pin at the top of the party. 



Consultants utilize this pinned post differently. Some post the shopping link and directions for the guests on how to navigate the website and turn on FB notifications. Some pin the "recommendations" post, where guests can comment with the ages & interests of their kiddos! Whatever you pin to the top, will stay there so the guests will always see it first. Talk to your TL to get their advice, but here are some examples of pinned posts:

🎁Turn your notifications on so you don't miss anything! Click on notification settings above. So you can see all notifications. Then click all notifications.

2. Once you have added the texts and graphics, hit "post". 

3. In the top right-hand corner of your post, you will see three small dots or a drop-down arrow. Click on that and select "pin post". This will ensure your post stays at the top of the party.
